Give a gift for the New Year

December 28th, 2009

The Chrysalis community is in DIRE need of girls applications for the Feb. 18-21 flight and boys applications for the March 18-21 flight. Youth must either have completed first semester of 9th grade OR be 15 years old. We’re accepting applications from those in college as well. Applications can be found at http://richmondemmaus.com/chrysalis/forms.html and will also be available at this Saturday’s gathering. We know that people tend to wait until the last minute…but we ask that you turn the applications in now!

The teams have started work and we want to make sure we have enough youth for the flights. Please let me know if you have any questions, or if you’d
like me to email you an application. We also ask that you pray for these upcoming flights and for those who will be leading them.

I hope to see everyone this Saturday at River Road UMC for gathering.

Buck Snead (R-5) Needs Prayer!

December 23rd, 2009

Please pray for Buck. Over the weekend He was in pain and was taken to St.Mary/s Hospital. They discovered a pulmonary embolism.{a blood clot} in the left lung. Because of my nursing background. let him come home after only two days in the hospital { a miracle in itself }. I will be giving him shots twice aday and coumadin once a day.So now we will both be going to doctors to have our blood work done. But remember ,By His stripes we WERE healed,so I am getting stronger by faith and in reality. Buck and I accept our healing now, and praise Him for the physical manifestation of such. I don’t know what we would do without our prayer warrior friends, and more importantly, what would we do without our Lord and Savior; Christ Jesus. Thank you all for your prayers and may God Bless You. your sister in Christ Myrna Snead

An old friend retires!

June 30th, 2009

We would like to make you aware of an event that we believe warrants acknowledging. In 1986, Steve and Marcie Bryant moved to Nashville for Steve to oversee the Walk to Emmaus program. Over the past 23 years. he has been actively involved with every action of the Walk to Emmaus through his work at the Upper Room. He has overseen the rapid growth and expansion of the movement and been its greatest sponsor. Under the Methodist system, he will be leaving the Upper Room where he has served most recently as the Publisher of the Upper Room for the past 12 years.

Effective July 1, the United Methodist General Board of Discipleship is reassigning Steve to address world ministries especially in the African continent where he has done so very much.

With his move, we hope that many in the Emmaus movement will want to send Steve a brief Agape note to thank him for his dedicated service to the Emmaus movement and wish him well in his new work. If so, you can send him a note at:
