Please help
May 10th, 2010The following request is from Stephen Ebert who flew on RC 47. Please help him make a HUGE difference in the lives of others.
I am currently involved in a project I need all of your help on. Please forward this message to everyone in your email list, and ask them to please do the same.
Last May, my friend Stuart took his own life. I have been working with his family over the past few months on the scholarship fund that was set up in his honor. I recently saw an advertisement for Refresh Everything, a project started by Pepsi to give out grants to people with good ideas who simply cannot implement them because of funding. As a result, I created The Hold Hope Initiative. The Initiative is designed to implement suicide awareness education and training starting in Henrico County Schools. We have made it through Pepsi’s selection process, but now we need YOUR help.
1,000 ideas are submitted every month. To get the grant, we must be in the Top 10. We need voters. You can vote every day in the month of May for the project. The more votes we receive, the more likely the chance we can get the grant and start training now. I have provided links for more reading about the project, as well the website to vote on. There is a facebook page for the group as well. You do not have to be a member of facebook to look at the page and learn out about the project.
Thank you all so, so much for your help. If you find this to be worthwhile, please forward this message to everyone in your contacts and ask them to do the same. Every vote counts.
Sincerely,
Steven Ebert

Give a gift for the New Year
December 28th, 2009The Chrysalis community is in DIRE need of girls applications for the Feb. 18-21 flight and boys applications for the March 18-21 flight. Youth must either have completed first semester of 9th grade OR be 15 years old. We’re accepting applications from those in college as well. Applications can be found at http://richmondemmaus.com/chrysalis/forms.html and will also be available at this Saturday’s gathering. We know that people tend to wait until the last minute…but we ask that you turn the applications in now!
The teams have started work and we want to make sure we have enough youth for the flights. Please let me know if you have any questions, or if you’d
like me to email you an application. We also ask that you pray for these upcoming flights and for those who will be leading them.
I hope to see everyone this Saturday at River Road UMC for gathering.
Fly with Christ!
